To the Brainstormery!?!?!??!?!
This was sent to me by my dear friend, Patrish.
Just reading it makes me gag.
I am really grateful that Canada has banned "KFC's Double Down".

Quick Update
I have really been keeping myself busy this summer. Prior to April, I was a bit worried that I wouldn't have anything to do other than the research thing and so I started finding stuff to do. But now, I think I am really overwhelmed by a lot of stuff. I am having loads of fun though! and time is moving alot faster!
I have been:
- swimming daily. 1-1.5K. It is really tiring. I am super out of shape and it doesn't help when swimmers around you can swim the butterfly. Someone please help me with my strokes, I don't think I am doing them properly.
- observing and finding volunteer positions. God's been faithful so I have been going to places
- school work! this major research paper is killing me. I have been putting off this thing for 8 days now...not good. I have also started this online course thing and it is taking alot of my time. But I hope that it will be useful in my future career
- Just doing things here and there.... fun stuff! =)
- thinking about going on vacation sometime this year....
There's alot more stuff going on in June, July and August! and I can't wait for things to unfold!
I really need to spend more time with friends.......relationships break apart when there's a lack of communication/interaction....scary =S

Wise?
It is true. The older you are, the wiser you are. Wise in the sense that you have more experiences in life and have probably made a lot more mistakes.
I really thank God for all the "old" people who gave me advices lately. They were really wise.

Praise Items
Counting my blessings:
- I did well on my last reading essay. I have been quite worried about the essay portion of the course. The funny thing about this essay was the writing process. My topic was motivation, but I was definitely NOT motivated when I wrote it. I felt almost hypocritical because I kept writing about how students needed to be motivated to be successful blahblahblah, but I was just not feeling it.
- 2 SLPs have said yes to taking me for a day or two. I just need to go back to sauga as fast as possible to talk to them about volunteer work. PRAISE THE LORD. I have been praying about this for a longggg time now. whoohoo!
- Finished TA-ing for the year. It was tough but I got through it. It was a great experience. Hopefully I can go back to work in September.
- God gave me a great plan. I don't know. I'll just follow.

Life at Brock - Part 1
So my course work part of my MA is done. I just have to proctor 2 exams and mark 300 exams and then I get to go home. I have been trying to keep myself busy by spending as much time as I can with my classmates before K goes home. I'll be leaving St. Catharines in about 6 days (sad!!)
There's just so much to reflect on regarding life at Brock.
Where should I start?
Well, I have never imagined myself going to Brock. In fact, when I applied for undergrad 4 years ago, I didn't even research the school. Reason being I already had my eyes set for McMaster because their science program sounded really good and it was kind of close to home. But if I had known about their Linguistics and Speech program or just knowing about them in general, Brock would be one of my choices.
Brock is an awesome school. Although academically, it isn't as strong as Mac's, Brock has this thing that makes you feel very comfortable when you are there.
Reasons why Brock > Mac:
- People at Brock are generally nicer. Not sure if this is true, but one of the profs said the reason for this is because students at Brock are mostly from small towns such as pickering and other towns that I have never heard of; whereas students at Mac are mostly from big cities like Toronto, Mississauga
- Not sure if it is because I am a grad student or what, but I feel that the profs are nicer here and they understand you more.
- Brock, or rather St. Catharines, has an awesome bus system. Most buses come every 15 minutes. Mac buses come like one every 45 minutes or something.
So in general, Brock University is better in terms of university life ( at least for me! I will explain this in the next post), but McMaster is still better academically; perhaps it is because the school has more money.
And if I had known about linguistics or even speech language pathology prior to entering university, I would have never chosen Mac... since they don't really have a good ling program.
