Update!

Sorry for not updating in the longest time. I've been home since April 19th and have been mad crazy with job searching and just finding something to do. I dont know why I am so frustrated with finding a summer job. Well, the extra money is definitely good for textbooks next year but really, for the longest time, I felt like I needed a job to make me feel busy... I dont know, to make me feel like I am USEFUL and not just sit at home and get fat. I dont know what's happening....

So right now, I am just chilling at home with God till something happens =) yay!

But yea, for sure this summer, I really want to learn. Whether it is learning the Word or just learning something new such as baking a cake. I haven't baked a cake by myself before, not even using CAKEMIX! My knowledge is very limited and I just want to expand my intelligence. Thus, Bible study with the Zoe girls will be definitely good this summer!

I am ready to be used by God this summer and just follow what He has in store for me. =) yay

And I also found myself a personal trainer ;) yuppp... well, she is gonna "train" me and just keep me motivated with running the laps and just losing weight in general. It is actually quite funny cuz she needed someone to go with her so she wouldn't be soo lonely. But yea, I've been going everyday since I got the membership this year and I plan to go everyday with her (if possible). Man...she can run like 30 laps without stopping and I can barely do 2 laps without dying. mannn... Need to work on my endurance! Yay to exercise! No pain no gain. hehe.

AND I need to find a dress this summer cuz mulder's making me go to the biochem formal next year. I dont like wearing dresses... cuz it is too girlie for me.

Anywho, I know you guys haven't seen my res room at mac before. So here are some before and after pictures! hahahahhaha... I am definitely going to miss my roomie. =(

Welcome to Les Prince Room 227

Steph actually has a bigger side since the middle bar (the closet) is supposed to be in the center, but it is slightly to the left.

a closer look at our room...
My MESSY side of the room before I left
Steph's MESSY side of the room before I left
My table after the biochem exam

Our dusty/dirty bathroom
I think we are great roomies considering we're both SOOO messy, well, she is definitely the messier one. We have so much in common and it was great just sharing about lives to each other <3>

Sidenote: I love Korean rap! especially the rap/hiphop group called Epik High (the group that's singing this song). The leader of the group, tablo, is such a humble person. He was raised in the States, got both his bachelor and masters at Stanford University, majoring in English literature and Creative writing. His English is definitely very good and the thing that I like him the most is that he doesn't boast about it in Korea to other celebrities. Unlike other artists such as Brian from FTTS, who only got a highschool diploma in the States would speak English to other Koreans even when he knows that they dont understand. argh! soo annoying! The fact that Tablo is soooo humbled by his education and intelligence just make me like him so much more. <3<3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi00WfqoorUbNiVDDpFoNqEKqrFpN9l8pwKFTyWB-MvPDgoLfA2oLpx6xioutQRLJwzrso67VMlB-Kmuye-FqgQOJLUfT9ShcHEVyUSrGtfYzGjSV31ke0Xa2KDh0OAaWMW9zF5LpUciM/s1600-h/tablo-epik-high-86616.jpg">
The end. BBT anyone?

it really isn't THAT hot.

It is 20 degrees right now in Hamilton with a fair bit of windy.

As I was walking to Commons to get lunch just now, I saw people outside their res building...tanning. Yes, tanning. Some girl laid on her towel on the floor... reading and tanning. OKAY there. She was wearing a spaghetti strip top with short shorts and flipflops. Now I am walking by thinking, "honestly, is it really that hot outside?" I am wearing a zipup sweater over my t-shirt and a pair of jeans and she is already in her beach wear.

I really wonder, in July/August when it is 28 degrees+, what are you going to wear? nuthing? go naked?

Something interesting...

The following paragraph was adapted from webct, linguistics 1AA3, Dr. Stroinska:

On the English Language

Let's face it: English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant or
ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins were not invented in England or french fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies, while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that
quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is
neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why is it that writers write, but
fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce, and hammers don't ham? If the
plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2
geese. So, one moose, 2 meese? Is cheese the plural of choose?
If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats
vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
In what language do people recite at a play, and play at a recital? Ship by
truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? Park
on driveways and drive on parkways?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a
wise guy are opposites? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold
as hell another? Why isn't phonetic spelled the way it sounds? Why is
"abbreviation" such a long word?
When a house burns up, it burns down. You fill in a form by filling it out
and an alarm clock goes off by going on.
When the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they
are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind
up this essay, I end it?

soo funny! I love Linguisticssss! =)

Death

When I got home on thursday night, I received a msg from F on msn about something that I didn't want to know. It read, "Uncle H passed away today." I sat on my chair, totally shocked. I kept telling myself that it is prolly a joke that F's pulling....because there is no way that Uncle H could have passed away. Just no way. Uncle H didn't have cancer or any terminal illness.... soo there is really no way. I msged him back and told him to really stop joking around about this and he replied saying that it is the truth. I still couldn't believe it. There is really no wayyy that this thing have happened. I tried calling home but the line wasn't going through. I continued sitting on the chair just thinking... what if it is true? What is going to happen to Auntie P, C and T? How are they going to cope with this sudden loss? What's going to happen now? they need their dad. In this midst of this, I just prayed that it wasn't true....

I went back to the study room but nuthing could go in my head. I just waited for the time to pass by so I could call home to talk with my parents. When my mom picked up at the phone, my mom said that it was the true. Uncle H passed away this afternoon. As of right now, we dont know how he died since he just fainted and then blacked out. C was there to call the ambulance but the end uncle H couldn't make it when he got to the hospital.

I was still shocked from all of this. I didn't even know how to cry cuz I was just soo shocked how a life could end so suddenly. Uncle H went to church to play basketball on monday and he was fine that night... but the next day and onwards, he felt sick so he didn't go to work. But how can one just die so suddenly? I was just soo worried about Aunt P, C and T.

I have never experienced a death of a family member, let alone someone close. Well, my paternal grandma died when I was 2 but I didn't know anything cuz I was so little. Although Uncle H was not related to me, everyone in BCBC, MCAC and my family will miss him dearly. He was an amazing chef. He made caesar salad in a white garbage bag and his "non-rubbery" turkey, gravy, stuffings will be missed. Thanksgiving will never be the same without him.

I know that every kid who knew him are touched and shocked by this incident because he touched everyone of us kids some way. He has seen each one of us grow up to be the person we are today. He taught us how to play basketball (with all these wicked moves), cook and just everything about life. One time he randomly told me how to choose a good career and that was when I was in grade 9-ish.

I am just so touched by how many brothers/sisters/aunts and uncles of both churches have come to comfort them. That's what the church is for, we are here to build each other up in all circumstances. I really pray for their family right now as they go through this time of loss....

We will all miss Uncle H dearly and he will always be in our minds during holiday seasons. But he is in a better place right now, with Jesus, singing with the angels and living a life of eternity. There is a reason why God took him away so suddenly. God has already planned out our lives and all we have to do is to live it according to His will.

With this whole incident, it just reminded me how precious life is. We really need to cherish all our loved ones. For the time that is spent fighting and arguing over something unnecessary, I think we should instead use the time to love them because you'll never know when that special someone is going to leave.

cherish.

Bad week

This week was just bad because of this one exam that I wrote this morning - anal chem.

Exam:
I have been studying like crazy for this exam because I really didn't want to fail it. And no matter how much time they give me, I will never feel ready for this exam. Despite all the failures in the past with this course, I was quite determined to really work hard for the exam and anything else related. God's been really rebuking me alot lately; just disciplining me about a lot of stuff and I know I deserve them all. I have been disobedient and just being unfaithful and I know his disciplines are trying to teach me something. Just like how parents teach their kids. We need to fall down to learn how to pick ourselves up again.. and that's what's God been doing to me. We need to face hardships in order to learn to be a better person. This anal chem course isn't really a hard course but the questions on tests/assignments are just very hard to understand making me feel really scared for my final grade.

Anyway, I got pretty sick of studying for this course on wednesday and thursday and just wanted to get it done with.

Last night when I finished another round of lecture readings, I was still feeling very anxious, tired and just didn't know whether I knew my stuff well enough cuz the prof could ask anything. So I just started to praypraypray and just really asked God to give me peace and confidence throughout the exam tmr. Leaving it all up to His hands... and just letting Him use me and my brain.

This morning when I woke up at 8:00am for my 9am exam, I felt very peaceful (despite some thing else which I will explain later). As I start writing the exam... I knew most of the stuff from T/F and fill in the blanks and one math problem... but there one was theory question and one numerical question that I was struggling with. And together, they were worth 30 marks. I didn't know what to do but stare at the paper and people around the room. I saw Mo looking around the room, touching his bald head (hehe)...and then I saw Mulder on my left just didn't know what to do with some of the questions. At one point of the exam, I just wanted to leave because I had no idea what to do with those two questions. I thought about giving up.

I sat in there for 1.5 hours staring at the question... and I knew that God would somehow help me through this... and then....by just one click, God told me how to do this math problem. At first, I was still skeptical about it because I have never seen it in the problem set, but God really just told me how to do. What He told me made a lot of sense to me soo I just went with it cuz as long as I write something down, I still get part marks. So after doing that math problem... I felt quite confident but at the same time... uneasy as to whether I did it right. But I know I shouldn't worry because God was the one that did it for me.

After I handed in my exam, I went to the washroom with Hina since she also handed in the exam. We were just discussing about the exam and stuff and she told me that she did the exact same thing as me for the math problems. The same thing what God told me write down. She is a smart cookie, and if she did the same thing, I know I did it right too....

God has really blessed me today. His presence in the exam room and the peace that I felt this morning were just indescribable. It is as if He said, "My child, just trust me on this one"

Impossibles can turn into possibles with God alone.

Motivation.

oh my goodness..

I just looked at some ccf grad night pictures on facebook and man.. I couldn't recognize my friend cuz he got skinnier over the year.

He was one of the 'fatter' kids and over the summer he lost like 10 pounds through basketball and stuff, now he is one of the 'skinny' kids, which I think he prolly lost another 10 pounds over the school year or something.

but man...he is my motivation now. seriously.

This summer will be a summer of PHYSICAL revival.

Need to activate my gym membership as soon as I get outta here!
